Microsoft Copilot Training Malaysia · HRDC Claimable

Your company is paying for Copilot. Are your staff actually using it?

Most staff open Copilot once, get an average answer and go back to doing it the old way. In one hands-on day they use it on their own Word documents, Excel sheets, inbox and Teams meetings, and they leave knowing where it saves time and where it doesn't.

In the apps they open every day

One real task in each app

No feature tour. Every app gets one job your staff already do, done with Copilot on their own files, so the habit sticks after the trainer leaves.

Word: the first draft of the report

Point Copilot at last quarter's report and this quarter's notes, get a first draft of the management update, then cut it down to one page for the boss. Staff learn to brief it properly instead of accepting the first draft.

Excel: what changed this month, and why

Ask which branch or product moved most against last month, get the helper column and the chart, then check the numbers yourself. We show where Copilot in Excel is strong and where you still verify by hand.

Outlook: the long email thread nobody wants to read

Summarise a long thread with a vendor or customer, pull out what was agreed and what's still open, then draft the reply in your company's tone.

Teams: action items without rewatching the meeting

After a recorded and transcribed meeting, get the decisions, the action items and who owns each one. Then ask what was said about the topic you missed.

Copilot Studio

Your first simple agent

Copilot Studio is Microsoft's tool for building your own agents: you describe what it should do in plain language, connect it to your company's documents, and publish it where staff already work, such as Teams.

  1. Pick one question staff keep asking"How many days of leave can I carry forward?" "Which form do I use for travel claims?" The HR and admin questions that fill everyone's inbox.
  2. Connect it to the right documentsThe staff handbook or policy folder on SharePoint, so answers come from your own policies, not the internet.
  3. Test it, then publish it in TeamsTry the awkward questions, tighten its instructions, and put it where staff can actually find it.

Need the flows behind the agent too, like approvals and form submissions? That's Power Automate. See Power Automate with AI training.

Before you book

Check your licence first

"Copilot" means different things depending on the licence. Half the frustration we see comes from staff being shown features their licence doesn't include. We check this during scoping.

Copilot Chat, without the add-on

Available to staff on business Microsoft 365 plans. It covers web-grounded chat, work with files they upload, and Copilot in Outlook. Since 15 April 2026, companies with more than 2,000 users lose Copilot Chat inside Word, Excel and PowerPoint unless staff have the paid licence; smaller companies keep it, with usage limits at busy times.

Microsoft 365 Copilot, the paid add-on

Adds Copilot inside Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams, answers grounded in your emails, meetings, chats and files, and more advanced agents.

How staff can check

In Copilot, the label under their name shows which tier they have. Ask them to check before the session, or tell us and we'll check during scoping.

Microsoft changes Copilot packaging often. Microsoft's own page is the source of truth. Mixed groups are fine: we design the day so staff on both tiers have something to do.

Before you ask

Copilot questions

We only have Copilot Chat, not the paid licence. Is the training still worth it?

Yes, but it's a different day. We focus on Copilot Chat, Copilot in Outlook and working with uploaded files, and we show the boss what the paid licence would add so the decision is based on real use, not a sales demo.

Some staff have the paid licence and some don't. Can they attend together?

Yes. Tell us who has which licence and we plan exercises both groups can do, with the in-app parts for licensed staff only.

Is our company data safe?

Copilot works inside your Microsoft 365 tenant and only shows people what they already have permission to see. The bigger risk is usually files shared too widely, which is why we cover permissions and usage rules in the session.

How is this different from your ChatGPT training?

ChatGPT training is about the AI tool on its own. Copilot training is about AI inside the Microsoft apps your staff use all day, working on your emails, meetings and files. If your company runs on Microsoft 365, Copilot is usually where to start. ChatGPT training is here.
